Path to the Future- written 2020

Like so many of you, tonight I am so sad about the state of affairs. The world is ablaze and our path forward is thick and unclear.

But strangely in this era of uncertainty, there is a feeling of hope. It is alive In a new generation.

I hope for us and importantly for me as the mother of four boys, I hope for them. They have good hearts and souls, and they deserve a peaceful healthy world. They are already sharing their bright light with it.

I want to do my best to keep it as beautiful as they see it now.

I want them to enjoy a world where we are kind, not just to one another, but to all beings. A world where we teach that kindness.

A world where we give cover to those precious vulnerable souls who need our generosity and protection.

A world where we make music when we run out of words to say what needs to be said.

I have faith in the future because I have faith in our kids. And right now, faith is especially important.

It Is the light on the path they travel.

But remarkably they are both the travelers and the light.

This is an unwieldy dichotomy.

But remarkably, they make it look easy.

”That’s not fair” they say, purveyors of justice. “Just ask them to please stop being mean” they say, advocates of compassion. “Please don’t waste” they say, protectors of the Earth.

I hope one day everyone stops to listen and understand. We will be the better for it.

Skin cancer awareness tip- Medications and conditions that reduce the strength of the immune system put a person at higher risk for some skin cancers. If you take a biologic or other similar drug, make sure to check your skin frequently.
