Psoriasis

  • This condition is common and sometimes debilitating.

  • If you have psoriasis and joint pain, make sure to speak to a physician about this as psoriasis can sometimes affect and even destroy joints!

  • Psoriasis is associated with other conditions like heart disease and diabetes.  If you have psoriasis, watch your diet closely and make vegetables the staple of all of your meals.  Watch closely though to see whether nightshade vegetables affect you as some people have reported worsening with these. 

  • Moisturize your skin at least daily.

  • Your psoriasis areas may need to be moisturized even more frequently. 

  • Consider first using a product to reduce the scale on your patches such as creams with urea, lactic acid or salicylic acid.  I like AmLactin for these.  

  • If you are not allergic, you can try a little almond oil if you have psoriasis of the scalp. 

  • Consider using a dilute apple cider vinegar rinse on your scalp if your scalp is itchy from psoriasis. 

  • UV has been helpful in psoriasis, but DO NOT GET A SUNBURN!
